MMA Betting Lines Explained [American Odds]
For UFC and MMA betting all sportsbooks offers a money line like you would find in Baseball or Hockey match betting instead a point spread .
A money lines are quite straight forward. If you bet on a fighter, the way or how he wins doesn’t matter at all, all that matters is that the wins and your bet will win!
For every match up at UFC 91, each fighters has a plus or a minus next to their name.
The plus sign or positive number (for example +200) always indicates underdog in the fight. Its the amount you must bet to win $100. The minus sign or the negative number on the other hand (eg. -233) always indicates the underdog and the amount you win for every $100 bet.
Using this weekends main event as an example, you would bet $125 for a profit of $100 on the favorite Brock Lesnar, while for the underdog Randy Couture a bet of $100 at Betus for example would result in a profit of $105.
How to bet UFC 91
There are only one two solid value bets on this card. On my first post I suggest bettors get on Lesnar early as he would be bet on early. My prediction was spot. Lesnar has ceased favoritism but he remains decent bet still. Couture may have experience on his side but that just about it. His striking is solid but slightly overrated. Lesnar is the superior wrestler, he is bigger, faster and wont have to worry about submissions like he did against Mir. I doubt the almost 46 year old Couture who had to deal with several issues outside fighting, will be able to survive the whole five rounds with a referee stoppage the most likely outcome. (Bet Lesnar at -120 - 2 unit play)
