England Championship: Plymouth Argyle Over Colchester 19.45GMT
Iwan Evans - March 4th, 2008 . IWANS PICK: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 1.72 (BET365) OVER COLCHESTER UNITED (WIN)
Plymouth Argyle are doing well under Paul Sturrock after a bit of a sticky patch and they are now playoff contenders after putting a good run together. They have been solid for most of the season and have kept 14 clean sheets, 10 more than tonight’s opponents bottom placed Colchester United. They have won 4 of their last 5 in the league but underperformed in the 3-0 loss at West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns. Home Park is a very tough place to go especially when weather is not favorable. They have lost only 2 of their last 10 at home and I don’t think Colchester can get a result.
Colchester have kept only 4 clean sheets this season and they are really struggling at the foot of the table. They have won only 1 of their last 9 league matches a 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Preston at Layer Road. They have lost their last 2 league matches and they have really struggled to win matches, winning only 3 of their last 17 in all competitions.
Colchester don’t have a good record at Plymouth as they have never won on the South Coast and the odds are stacked firmly against them. They have only beaten Plymouth once in their 9 meetings and that was in 1995, they have also only scored 1 goal in their last 7 meetings with Argyle.
I fancy a Plymouth win @ 1.72 available at bet365.
