EPL Betting: Chelsea vs Arsenal Odds, Tips and Preview 16.00 GMT
Iwan Evans - March 22nd, 2008 .Chelsea face Arsenal on a season defining weekend for the 4 premiership contenders. After a fantastic start, Arsenal have come to a halt in the premiership race, drawing their last 4 matches. Chelsea have been the dark horse. With these two sides currently occupying second and third places, if Manchester United defeat Liverpool, a draw will not be enough for either side. Chelsea are unbeaten in 4 years at home, a total of 77 home matches but this is an Arsenal team that can put in a massive performance on their day. We saw that in the Champions League in particular. The squad has come of age and performed in big games this season. Although they were poor against Middlesbrough last week, their passing game should pose more of a threat at Stamford Bridge. They have been lacking in attack but I see Adebayor coming good under pressure, Van Persie will have been glad to have a run out last week and play most of the match and we can also expect Walcott off the bench.
Chelsea have their own problems, especially at the back. Defence wins premierships. Premiership winning teams just don’t concede 4. I do think Avram Grant’s style will play into Arsenal hands here. There are plenty of attacking threats from Chelsea but Sunderland caused them problems last week and there is no doubting Arsenal can do the same. Since Jose Mourinho’s departure, they’ve managed just two points from their four meetings with the top four all season. , Arsenal were the last team to beat Chelsea in the league back in December and they were also the last team to defeat Chelsea at home. Arsenal need a big performance and just like in Milan I expect them to deliver, take them on the Handicap away from home.

7/8 is a very good run though.
