International Friendly: France vs England Odds and Betting Tips
Iwan Evans - March 26th, 2008 .France take on England in Paris tonight for Fabio Cappello second outing as England manager. The England squad have been getting used to Capello’s no nonsense approach and strict team selection. Reputation means little to a man that has coached many of the world’s best players and biggest clubs during his lengthy career. While they weren’t at their best against Switzerland the win would have given them some confidence going into this match and more importantly should have given Cappello more valuable insights into England’s deficiencies.
Despite not qualifying for Euro 2008 their away form has not been to too dismal. Only losing two of of their last 9, the loses coming to Croatia and Russia. In their last away match they grind out a 1-0 win over Austria and had performed admirably in the friendly in Holland drawing 1-1.
France, also not at their best have been hit by withdrawals of six key players: Vieira, Henry, Benzema, Louis Saha, Valbuena, Sagna and Sébastien Frey will all be unavailable. Their form for international friendlies has been mixed losing 2 of the last five, drawing with Morocco and only registering victories over minnows Slovakia and Austria.
I see a more motivated England squad getting a result, my pick back England +0.5 AH @ 1.8 available at Bet365.com
